Roller Coaster Career
Willie Revillame several times went overboard on his naughty jokes interviewing contestants in the segment “Calendar Girl”. Together with the two co-hosts, they were suspended by Philippine’s Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) and the show was temporarily replaced by “Esep-Esep”. After the suspension, the trio of Willie, John and Randy returned to the show and went to their usual approach of hosting. (I hope you will be devirginized) to a birthday celebrant, as his birthday wish. That remark pushed the MTRCB to order ABS-CBN to terminate Willie in the show, but he made an immediate resignation even before the actual verdict is handed to him. He then concentrates on making music after his roller coaster career as a co-host. His music with “mass appeal” became a hit particularly “Pito-Pito”, “Ikaw ang Number 1”(You Are Number 1), “Para sa Akin ay Ikaw”(For Me It’s You) and “Sabi Mo, I love You”(You Said I Love You). Also, he made some appearances to other shows that surprisingly posted high ratings. Willie Revillame proved to be still a favorite personality of the masses.
