Biography
This ‘The Prince of Pop’ is the next best thing as far as male singers are considered on the Philippine’s music scene. The grand champion in the very first reality music show ‘Star In A Million’ in January 2004, Erik Santos has gained unstoppable popularity and fame.
Erik has proved time and again that he is a highly talented and versatile singer and is being touted as the next Gary V. or Martin Nievera . Winning hearts of peple in Fil and all over the globe, Erik has given many a hit songs from ‘I Believe I can Fly’, ‘It Might Be You’ (a duet with co-SIAM finalist Marinel Santos) and ‘I Want to Spend my Lifetime Loving’ (with fellow Champion Sheryn Regis ), which is also part of the successful Star In A Million album. The main single ‘Pagbigyang Muli’ from his first double platinum album “This is The Moment” has been a resounding success!
Hit song after another hit song, Erik has had successful mall tours, and sold out shows and concerts in Fil and abroad. Not only this, he is also one of the favourite singing guests of the stars in their concerts in Philippines. He has shared the stage and the limelight with big stars such as Jasmine Trias , Regine Velasquez , Lea Salonga , Pops Fernandez , Sharon Cuneta , and Gary V. Besides this, he has had a hugely successful back to back concert with Ai ai De Las Alas which was also dubbed as ‘The Prince of Pop And the Comedy Concert Queen in Araneta Coliseum’ soon after his success in SIAM, back in November 27, 2004.
There has been no stopping Erik in his pursuit of music excellence and gaining a steadily increasing fan following. As part of the same journey, Erik launched a CD lite album that contained his version of the popular Nexus song ‘I’ll Never Go’, and even acted in the video of this single! He followed it with ‘I Will Never Leave You’. Soon after, he released the ‘Loving You Now’ album that received a glittering launch at the Music Museum on 28 September 2005. The album went gold & platinum and the follow-up video to ‘I will Never Leave You’ called ‘Bakit Ba Iniibig Ka’, a duet with Asia’s songbird Regine Velasques became a huge hit!
