Biography
Lauren Young is one of the young actresses of Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN. She is a Filipino-American actress and the younger sister of Megan Young. She was born on November 8, 1993.
Lauren is popular among young audiences due in part to her participation in youth-oriented programs like Astigs and Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv and its sequel Abt Ur Luv, Ur Lyf 2. In Astigs, she played the role of Josielyn. She had a recurring role in the Abt Ur Luv shows as Nelle Brondial. In both shows, she was paired with AJ Perez .
Lauren and AJ also appeared in two shows with Piolo Pascual . The first time was in a Star Magic Presents episode in September 2006 entitled All About a Girl. In that drama, Lauren was Lea, a teenager struggling with a low self-esteem. Piolo's character, named Alvin, showed concern for her ,which she misinterpreted to be more than brotherly affection. As her confidence was growing thanks in part to Alvin's help, she also developed a huge crush on him. AJ's character, Egay, was Alvin's cousin. Egay was secretly in love with Lea.
Lauren and AJ also had supporting roles in the very popular 2008 ABS-CBN fantasy-drama Lobo, which was directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, FM Reyes, and Jerry Lopez Sineneng. The show received massive publicity and high ratings as it is the first team-up of Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin . Lauren portrays the role of Zoe Cristobal, the younger sister of Piolo’s character named Noah. AJ played the role of Bayani Mendoza, Zoe’s love interest and schoolmate.
In Love Spell, a fantasy and romance-based program airing on ABS-CBN, Lauren had a lead role in the episode entitled Bato. She played the role of Irish, who had a mom who prohibits her from having a boyfriend. Irish was also jealous of her friend who has a kind and helpful boyfriend unlike her boyfriend who was untrustworthy and basically a playboy (portrayed by AJ).
One day, while skipping class, Irish found an old woman by a river. The woman offered her yellow stones with magical powers. According to the old woman, Irish's wish will come true when she throws one yellow stone into the river. She did not believe it at first, but she threw one as a test. She was convinced of the stones' powers when her wish did come true the following day. So she came back and threw two more stones to fulfill her wish for her mother to allow her boyfriend to visit in their house and for her boyfriend to mend his ways. But eventually Irish abused the power of the stones, and bad karma came her way.
To date, Lauren has one movie credit to her name. She had a supporting role in the 2007 box-office hit One More Chance, starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo . She also had supporting roles in L ove Spell Presents Wanted Mr. Perfect, Your Song Presents Kasalanan Ko Ba?, Your Song Presents Even If, and the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode entitled "Telebisyon."
