Phylbert Angellie Ranollo popularly known as Bea Alonzo was born on 17th of October 1987 and was raised without a father since the age of four. At the very young age she already had an ambition to be in show business and dream of being famous flocked by adoring fans asking for signatures.
Joining beauty contests was her first step on its path to showbiz world. As destiny took its course, through this contest that a Filipino fashion designer Oscar Peralta spotted Bea and introduced her to some key people in the business. At the age of 15, this Filipina-British was introduced as a member of ABS-CBN Talent Center’s Star Circle Batch 10.
Though promoted by a big TV Network in the Philippines as a new breed of actress, things did not go well instantly. As a future superstar, the challenge to prove herself is inevitable. Bea went through all the struggle of being a novice in this kind of business. Her initial talent fees will not augment even her transportation and clothing allowance. Yet the desire and determination to be a star overshadowed all these.
Finally, Bea Alonzo was given the biggest break of her acting career in the year 2003 where she was paired to a more popular John Lloyd Cruz in a new telenovela “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay”. This love-team propelled Bea’s career into a new heights. She admits that paring to a famous co-star was her ticket to stardom. In this same TV series where her acting talent was noticed and she earned the nomination for Best Actress in a TV Drama. As fans of their tandem continues to grow, more and more opportunities opened for Bea as well as John Lloyd. This on-screen partnership was featured in three more TV Drama series. “It Might Be You”, “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin”, and “Maging Sino Ka Man”.
Their tandem was brought into four movies including “My First Romance” where she also bagged the “Best New Movie Actress” at the PMPC Star Awards. This young actress was also paired to a famous Filipino hunk Piolo Pascual in the movie, “Dreamboy”.
She is very happy with the direction of her career now and enjoying the fruits of her labor. As of this writing, Bea is currently an endorser of 14 products including Creamsilk, Johnson’s Face Powder and Avon. Through show business, she felt more financially independent and just recently bought a two-bedroom condominium in Eastwood Libis in Pasig City. Bea Alonzo plans to continue her education in UP Diliman and will be taking up Mass Communication as she thinks that Journalism is her true calling.
