Alma Moreno was a former sex symbol and well-acclaimed actress. Today, she is now a full-fledged public servant, working as a councilor in Parañaque City.

Alma Moreno was born on May 25, 1959, as Vanessa Lacsamana. Her father, Frank Lacsamana, is a Pampangeño, while her mother is Jean Moreno. Alma was a native of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur.

Her first movie was Urduja, which was released in 1974. However, her role was only minor, so she wasn’t noticed a lot by moviegoers and producers. It was actually Ishmael, who cast her in Ligaw na Bulaklak 2, that she became a full-fledged star.

Alma wasn’t just a sweet-faced lady. She was also known for her svelte figure. That’s why it didn’t take long for sexier and bolder offers to come along. She did Lumakad Kang Hubad; Mrs. Eva Fonda, 16; Masikip, Maluwang, Paraisong Parisukat; Gisingin Mo Ako, Neneng; Dyesebel; Mga Sariwang Bulaklak; and Magkaribal, to name a few.Because there was no stopping to skin flicks that she starred in—which, nevertheless, truly made it to the box office—she was titled the Sex Goddess of the Philippine Movies.

Alma Moreno was a popular host of several variety shows during the 1980s, such as The Other Side of Alma, Loveli-ness, and Rated A. It was also during one of her performances that she was caught wearing a tangga, a very slim underwear, almost looking like a bikini. Since then, she was also given the moniker of Tangga Queen. She also starred in her own drama series, which was called Alindog.

Her personal life is almost just as a hit as her movies. She was with four different actors all through the years. Her first domestic partner was Rudy Fernandez, whom she met in Bitayin Si Baby Ama in 1976. They bore a son named Mark Anthony Fernandez, who is also now a famous comedy and action actor.

When both parted ways, Alma was soon found to be in the loving arms of Dolphy, Philippines’s Comedy King and the ultimate Casanova. During their eight-year relationship, they had a son named Vandolph. The relationship was eventually put to a sudden stop when Alma discovered that Dolphy was already seeing Zsa-zsa Padilla, a singer and a fellow actress. Though they may have lived separate lives now, intrigues continue to hound them, the most recent one concerning the tell-all book Dolphy is set to launch sometime soon. Alma Moreno decided not to be part of it.

She wedded Joey Marquez, an actor-politician, and during their 12-year marriage, they had 4 children. These are Win-win, Yeoj, VJ, and Em-em, an adopted child. However, controversies and stories of cheating soon erupted, which then led to their annulment in 2004. She also had a long-term relationship with Gerard Madrid, who was years her junior. The relationship didn’t also last.

Since 2000, Alma was appearing in a number of TV series, such as Mga Anghel na Walang Langit, Da Boy en Da Girl, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, and Inday sa Balitaw. She’s bent to appear in the TV remake of Eva Fonda and in Una Kang Naging Akin.
