Enchong is popular to young audiences due to his major roles in teen dramas like Astigs and Star Magic Presents Abt Ur Luv and Abt Ur Luv, Ur Lyf 2. In Astigs, Enchong was played the role of Ipe, one of five high school students who formed their own club because no other club wants to accept them.
In 2006 and 2007, he had a recurring role in Star Magic Presents Abt Ur Luv and Abt Ur Luv, Ur Lyf 2 as Blue. Enchong is often paired with Empress Schuck in those teen-oriented dramas as well as in Mars Ravelo’s Lastikman TV series, top-billed by comedian Vhong Navarro as Miguel/Lastikman. In that 2007 fantasy-action-comedy flick, Enchong portrayed the character of Rafael Gipit aka Raffy, Miguel's geeky and kind-hearted neighbor and the younger brother of his best friend. Raffy was the love interest of Madonna, Miguel's annoying foster sister portrayed by Empress.
Like all actors and actresses under Star Magic, the talent management team of ABS-CBN, Enchong makes guests appearances in other youth-oriented programs and weekly variety shows like
ASAP. He made guest appearances in
Pedro Penduko at Ang Mga Engkantao and was part of the supporting cast of
Palimos ng Pag-ibig, a TV drama starring
Kristine Hermosa ,
Diether Ocampo , and
Rica Peralejo . In it, Enchong played the role of Job, Rica's younger brother who idolizes Diether's character.
Enchong is starting to break free from the pack of young heartthrobs in 2008 with his inclusion in the widely popular Filipino adaptation of the Korean TV drama
My Girl. He plays the role of Nico, the local version of Seo Jung Woo– the character that made Korean heartthrob Lee Jun Ki a household name in Korea. Nico is the cousin of Julian, the main male protagonist portrayed by
Gerald Anderson . Both Nico and Julian are in love with Jasmine, the cute and cheerful character brought to life by the very popular
Kim Chiu . The role has given Enchong a chance to shine as an actor sans a love team.
Outside show business, Enchong has made a name for himself as a member of the Philippine national swimming team. He has participated in international competitions like the Southeast Asian Games and the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. He has brought home countless medals and has invested his time and effort in the hopes of representing the country in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
As a print and commercial model, he has graced the ads of Bench, Globe, KFC, Timex, and Close-Up. Enchong was voted "Choice Pop Cover Boy" at the ASAP Pop Viewers Choice Awards 2006 for his appearance in the Cosmopolitan Magazine 2006 Centerfold Bachelors.
Enchong is one of a few celebrities who have managed to juggle show business, sports, and school. He is currently enrolled at De La Salle University.
